One map (The Valley of Zermatt) is torn (neatly) along a crease for about 4 inches (could be easily reinforced if required). Inscribed on the f.e.p. : "With kind regards from the author, Feb 1911" the year of Whymper's death. The handsome bookplate of Robert Ellis Cunliffe is on the inside of the front board.
